The approach also opens a wider range of embarkation and debarkation possibilities along Europe’s rivers. On the Danube, for example, travelers can choose itineraries that begin or end in cities such as Vienna, Budapest, or Passau, including round-trip sailings from Vienna—an option not commonly offered in traditional river cruise programming.

Because Riverside sailings operate on a variety of departure days throughout the week, travelers are not limited to the standard Saturday-to-Saturday cruise schedule. That opens up more flexibility in flight dates, too.
